We welcome parents and carers as partners in the education of their children. There are various times throughout the school year when you will have formal opportunities to speak with class teachers such as at parent/teacher interviews. There are often informal opportunities when you will be able to speak briefly with class teachers as well. We ask, however, that if you need to speak at length with a teacher that you send in a note requesting an interview so that classes are not disrupted and the education of your child remains the focus.

The Principal and School Leadership Team also welcomes communication with parents and a note or phone call requesting an interview is encouraged.  OLHC lies within the North-West Cluster of schools for the Diocese of Wollongong. Mr Paul McCann is the Cluster Head for our cluster, Mr Peter Turner is the Director of Education for the Wollongong Diocese and both are based at the Catholic Education Office, Wollongong. 

There are also many opportunities to help in the class as a parent helper in reading, art/craft, other activities and special days as well as in the library. Parent Helpers are asked to participate in a formal Parent Induction process which deals with school protocols and confidentiality before participating in the class or school activities. 

The school has an active Parents and Friends Association which meets at 7.30pm on the first Monday of each month in the Parish Meeting Room. Please come along and meet other parents involved in supporting our school.

Commonwealth No Jab No Pay Measure

Commencing 1st January 2016, parents who have not immunised their children against communicable diseases will not receive a number of social security benefits, including family and childcare benefits.  Conscientious objection to vaccination has also been removed as an approved exemption.  When enrolling a child in a NSW school, parents/caregivers are asked to provide an Immunisation History Statement.  A child without a statement is not prevented from enrolling; however, children without proof of immunisation may be asked to stay at home during an outbreak of a vaccine preventable disease.  For further information the Commonwealth Government's Advice is provided at:
